Developing countries have valiantly defended their sovereign rights over publicly avai lable digital sequence information (DSI) on genetic resources at the Convention o n Biological Diversity (CBD).

Parties to the Convention on Biolog ical Diversity (CBD) have launched the "Cali Fund" to operationalize the histori c decision made in 2022 in Montreal to establish a global fund to collect mon etary benefits arising from the use of digital sequence information (DSI) on gene tic resources.

Marking the "grim milestone" of 1,000 days since the Russian Federation launched its full-scale armed attack on Ukrain e, a United Nations human rights official on 19 November said that violations of human rights have become the order of the day, both in the conduct of hosti lities and in areas under occupation.
