Trade : WTO report on carbon-pricing stirs up a "hornet's nest" (PRIV)

A recent report issued by the World Trade Organization to advance the controversial carbon-pricing mechanism appears to be an alleged attempt to justify the European Union's carbon border adjustm ent mechanism (CBAM) and other such measures being considered by the United States and other industrialized nations, after trade and climate issues wer e rejected at the WTO's 13th ministerial conference (MC13) in Abu Dhabi in March, said people familiar with the development.

WGIHR : Bureau text recognises equity without effective implementation means (PRIV)

A consolidated text on proposals to amend the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005 recognises the promotion of equity and solidarity as a principle of IHR implementation but undermines i t with the absence of effective means of implementation.

Canada has made strides in recent years to address historical marginalization and inadequate access to safe drinking w ater and sanitation faced by its Indigenous Peoples, but there are still challen ges that need to be addressed.
